Ode to a Sunny Hillside

This photo was taken on March 1 2026 in Walnut Creek, California. A place I hold near and dear to my heart. It is the city that raised my mother, and a city of infinite wonderful memories from my childhood. A single cloud hangs over a hillside on a mostly sunny day. For someone standing in the shade, it’s probably a tad brisk. For the rest, it’s a sunny spring afternoon. It’s easy in life to get stuck feeling cold. Like the world around you is in a frozen winter with windchills in the negatives. But if you venture far enough west, you’ll find a sunny hillside. Where the air may get chill, but warm weather is one step away. Keep exploring! Find new passions, take an improv class, be with the people you love, write a poem about a picture you took. We will get out of this winter, I truly believe that. It’s going to take all of us though, and I hope my passion for photography, videography, and music will help you on your journey out west.
